Some very useful sites that helped me plan for the tour. A great amount of research went into putting this trip together, and these sites are where I spent most of my time.  Just click on the image to go there.

Bike Forums -  Bike forums is a forum built around everything bicycles. Talk and learn about topics like gear, mechanics advice, touring, training tips and so, so, so much more. I have spent an obscene amount of hours at this site...

Traveling Two - Traveling Two is a site much like  mine. Two bicycle tourers created a site to document their tour around the world. Besides their great advice, the best thing about their site is the  En-cyclo-pedia, which has a list of other cycle tourers and their helpful personal websites.

WWOOF - World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms - This is the program that we will be working through on our trek around the country. Over a thousand farms around the USA are involved in this organization.  The general idea of the  program is that you will work on these farms, doing daily tasks, helping with new projects, working market stands, and in return for your work you will be paid with a place to sleep and fresh food from the farm for meals! What a wonderful idea!

Warm Showers - Warm showers is a worldwide community providing hospitality to touring cyclists. Anyone can sign up pledging to help provide a bed, dinner, conversation, or warm shower to any cyclists coming through their town. In return, they repay the favor when you go on the road!

Couch Surfing - Couch Surfing is based on the same idea as Warm Showers, but not necessarily aimed towards cyclists. It is a worldwide community to provide any traveler a place to sleep, a night on the town, or even a conversation over a pint of beer. And...free lodging!

Sheldon Brown - Sheldon Brown is THE super bicycle mechanic. His site provides countless tips and solutions to any aspiring  bicycle mechanic's problems.
