On June 5th, 2010, my travel mate was stolen from me along with all of my gear. Losing everything that I had worked so hard to get was quite a blow. We had just reached our 1,000 mile mark the day. If you haven't noticed, my mile counter has been halted at 1,030 for 3 months. For the record, it was an unforgettable 1,000.
I trusted this rig to take me around the country and back. Through the Appalachians, Ozarks, Rockies, Smokies, Great Plains, Mohave desert and Redwood forests. Under the rain, over the mud, through the snow. It was a machine. But at the same time, a friend.
I have loaded up a new rig that holds much promise. It will take me the distance, but it will never compare to the original that I set off with from Richmond on my great life adventure.
 Well...wasn't expecting to ever add to this page, but so it goes. Bike 2! A victim of Boulder, Colorado. A short life span from Knoxville to Boulder, but many miles, many hills, many sweaty afternoons. It was sad to see you go, but life must go on. I hope your new owner falls and breaks all of his teeth. Maybe we will meet again one day? |
